Day 1; Arrival in Kigali & transfer to Congo

If you arrive in the morning in Kigali, then you will have time to do the Kigali city tour and here you will visit the popular Kigali genocide memorial centre or even the national museum. Later, have lunch and then drive to Gisenyi at Lake Kivu from where you will cross the border to Goma. Once you cross the border, you will drive through Goma into Virunga national park. Overnight will be at the lodge of your choice which may be

Budget; Nyiragongo volcano summit shelters, Tchegera Island tented camp

Day 2; Nyiragongo hiking.

The day starts with an early Breakfast inorder to start your hike early enough. This is will probably be the one of the most really amazing days for any hikers because once at the top you will have a clear view of this burning larva lake which looks really amazing. It is a tough hike which takes about 5 or slightly more hours depending on the physical fitness especially since this is uneven volcanic rock you will be climbing. You need to hire a porter to carry your bags for you if you won’t be able to carry them from down the forest up to the top and you also have to carry packed lunch but dinner will be at the hotel. Overnight will be at; Nyiragongo Crater Cabanas.

Porters are readily available at an extra fee.

Day 3; descend and a boat ride down to Lake Kivu

Immediately after your breakfast, you will descend down the mountain and then go for the boat ride on Lake Kivu. You can have this 4 hour speed boat ride and then you can cross over into Rwanda, spend the night in Gisenyi.

Day 4; tour around Gisenyi and back to Kigali

After breakfast, you can leave Gisenyi, drive back to Kigali and you will be at the airport in time to catch your flight home. The driver/guide will drive you the airport and this will mark the end of our services.

If you wish to do a Gorilla Safari too in DR.Congo this can be organized and the Gorilla permit is cheaper in DR.Congo compared to its neigbouring counterparts i.e Uganda and Rwanda. It costs USD 400.
