Uganda Gorilla Trekking, Chimpanzee tracking and Wildlife Safari

DAY 1: ARRIVAL – KAMPALA
When you arrive at the airport, you will be met by a tour guide from AA SAFARIS & TOURS LTD and he will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. This hotel may be any of these below and they are on bed and breakfast basis;

DAY 2: MURCHISON FALL NATIONAL PARK | GAME VIEWING | TOP OF THE FALLS
Breakfast will be at served at the hotel, after that you will meet your guide, he will brief you about the trip, then drive you to Murchison falls national park. You will drive through the famous Luwero triangle or Hoima towards Masindi . You will have a break along the way to have breakfast, then later you will proceed to the park, drive straight to park and visit the top of the falls, this is a very fantastic sight. You will have a clear view from the top of the falls, you will see the longest river in the world forcing its self through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging down 43 meters. From here we will continue Game viewing on the way is very good; look out for hippos, elephants, buffalos and many other animals, seen grazing on the banks of the river. DAY 3: MORNING GAME DRIVE | BOAT TRIP – VICTORIA NILE
You will be served with after a cup of tea and then go for an early morning game drive on the northern ban so if your lodge is on the southern side, you will cross the river with a ferry. The drive helps you an opportunity to spot animals like elephants, lions, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribi, bush-bucks, Bohor reedbucks, hyenas, and sometimes the rare cases leopards can be seen. At mid-morning, you will be through with the game drive and the return to the lodge for mid morning breakfast. Relax at the lodge. After lunch, you will take an afternoon trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls. This boat trip along the Nile is the highlight of your trip to Murchison since it allows you to get up-close and personal with the animals. Along this stretch of the river, there are more than 4,000 hippos, so many Nile crocodiles. There are lots of water birds like the brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks and with luck, you may see the rare shoe-bill. The boat takes you to the base of the falls. Dinner and over night will be back at the lodge

DAY 4: MURCHISON FALLS NP TO FORT-PORTAL
In the morning after break fast, the guide will drive you from Murchison to Kibale National park. Lunch will be en route therefore you will stop somewhere. You will go driving through the country side and you will arrive in Fort portal town in the evening, drive straight to the hotel, there, you will have your dinner too. Hotel may be any of these

DAY 5: KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
This day is for chimpanzee trekking and so, breakfast will be served very early so that you are at the headquarter for briefing before 8:00 am with your driver/ guide. Track the habituated chimps starts at 8:00am along with your ranger that will be allocated to your group. These delightful apes are the closest to the humans than to any other living creature, they can be very interesting to watch as they squabble, take of their young ones and play in fruiting trees. Kibale forest is home to over 13 species of primates among which are the red Colobus monkey, the rare L’Hoest, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, black faced vervet monkeys, baboons and also bush babies. For those that love birds, there are more than 335 bird species in the forest and besides the birds, there are also so many other wildly animals like elusive forest elephant, buffaloes, giant forest hog and a half dozen antelope species. You be back from the forest and then have lunch and after that in the afternoon, drive to Queen Elizabeth park. Dinner will be at the lodge where you will spend the time.

DAY 6: GAME DRIVE | BOAT CRUISE – KAZINGA CHANNEL 
This morning you will leave for early morning game drive, that is after your morning breakfast. You will drive through the northern section of the park and search for various mammals like buffaloes which will be there in plenty close to the water, hippos, antelopes, so many Uganda Kobs and lions as well as hyenas though seeing these is not a guarantee. At mid morning, you will be returning to your lodge, lunch will be served in time and in the afternoon; you will go for the afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga channel after your lunch. During the boat ride, you will get the perfect opportunity to see the water animals like the hippos, crocodiles, water birds at a close range, at the shores of the channel, there will be an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

DAY 7: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
This morning, you will leave for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, drive through the seasonal southern sector of Queen Elizabeth called Ishasha which is the only place you can find the tree-climbing lions, you then go for a short game drive to search for the lions before continuing to Bwindi, famous for mountain gorillas. There are also birds and primates thus making the park worth visiting. For the bird watchers, this is one of the places to visit as there are over 348 species of birds and among these are 24 out of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics as well as about 7 red data book species. DAY 8: GORILLA TREKKING | BWINDI
Wake up early, take your breakfast and then go for briefing before 8:00 am at the ranger station. The park ranger the guides will then take you through the bush pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers as you track the gorillas. trekking can takes between 2- 7 hours which means you will have to walk for long hours thus a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. Once you meet them, you will sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male called the silver-back for an hour and then afterwards walk out of there. Overnight at the lodge of your budget and so is dinner

DAY 9:  LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
On this day, you will transfer to L. Mburo National park located in Mbarara. You will have lunch in Mbarara and then proceed to the park for an evening boat ride. The boat ride is done from Lake Mburo and during the ride you will see the crocodiles, hippopotamus and birds like Pelicans, Black crake, cormorant, fish eagle, Heron and sometimes the rare Shoe-bill Stork can also be seen. You after the boat ride head to the lodge where you will spend the night

DAY 10: GAME DRIVE | DEPARTURE
After your morning breakfast, you will go for the early morning Uganda Safari in  Lake Mburo National Park to search for herbivore animals like the Zebra, Impala, Buffalo, Topi, bush bucks, water bucks and Eland, among others. Predators include leopards, Hyenas and jackals though, it is not a must that these predators will be seen. There are also so many bird species and this park has the high population of the crested crane bird and Zebras in Uganda. You will have lunch in the afternoon, then after drive back to Kampala. If you have to leave the country, then the driver will drop you at the airport or at the any other place you chose to. This marks the end of your  Safari with AA Safaris and Tours ltd
