This trek can be very strenuous for some people which is why you have got to be physically fit therefore capable of walking for long hours in the jungle, climbing and sloping down the mountainous terrain. Much as this is tiring, the exercise is worth the effort as the encounter is really exciting but also the encounters entirely depends on the movements of the gorillas and since their movements depend on how near their food may be in the forest, the time taken can not be predicated but an encounter is a worth all the time you spend looking for them. You will carry packed lunch since you have no idea what time you will be through and also that 1 hour that you are given to spend with them in the jungle but then, your dinner and overnight will be back the lodge where you spent your first night

DAY 3: GOLDEN MONKEY TRACKING / DIAN FOSSEY TREK
You will wake up early in the morning for one of the above Rwanda trekking tours. After breakfast, you will then go for briefing about the golden monkey trekking in Volcano Park. This park is blessed with a number of primates among which are the velvet monkeys, baboons, so many others including the chimpanzees. Many tourists who travel to Rwanda in Africa’s Virunga Volcanoes Mountains visit normally are interested in this particular trek the endangered species. The Golden monkeys are subspecies of blue monkey found only in the bamboo forests of the volcanic mountain chain at the boarder of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. You Start the trek by penetrating the dense stands of bamboo scattered with open glades, with the guidance of ranger guides, you will make your way deep into golden monkey territory and habitat of groups of ‘habituated’ golden monkeys – monkeys that have turned into being familiar to human presence and will be seen. Although viewing is classically kept to a maximum of one hour, tourists can get an up-close look at the golden monkey in its natural habitat. You can watch the adults feed their young ones, playing with them and this can be very interesting experience.
In the afternoon, you will go for the Dian Fossey trek which includes visiting her grave. Dr. Dian Fossey was a famous American Gorillas researcher who established the Karisoke Research Center in Rwanda’s Virunga Mountains in 1967, so that they could protect and study about these endangered mountain gorillas but unfortunately died at the hands of poachers. Despite the fact that Fossey’s life was cut short, her work has continued through and developed into conservation efforts for other wildlife and programs for people who live near the national park
