What To Expect

DAY 1: NGAMBA ISLAND LAKE VICTORIA | ENTEBBE

After breakfast, the guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you to get to the boat in Entebbe so that you can cross Lake Victoria to Ngamba Island. You will visit Uganda’s only chimpanzees’ island and sanctuary.

You will cross the equator whilst on the boat to Ngamba Island and when you arrive at Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the duty caregiver will brief you about the chimpanzees, he will give you information about how these orphaned chimps were brought to the Island and then later it will be time for chimps feeding! You will watch the chimpanzees being fed on the visitors’ platform, you can take as many pictures as you want to while they are in their natural environment from only a few metres away.

Later you will have lunch and then in the afternoon you will take a boat ride back to Entebbe and return to your hotel an overnight at either

DAY 2: DRIVE TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

After your breakfast, you meet your driver/ guide and drive westwards towards Fort Portal. Lunch will be an en route meal as the journey takes about 7 hours and when you get to Fort Portal, you will proceed to Kibale National Park, heading straight to your lodge to rest as you wait for your dinner.

Fort Portal rests in the outline of the delightful Mountains of the Moon and it is very much known for its many tea plantations. Kibale Forest Park is composed of green tropical rainforests and attractive various animals. Kibale National Park is also one of the most wonderful and spectacular forests in Uganda thus making that forest worth protecting because it is home to the largest number of Man’s closest relatives which are the Chimpanzees. DAY 3: KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK | BIGODI SWAMP

When you are through with your breakfast, the drive will take you to assemble at Kanyankyu River Camp before 0800 hours as you prepare for the Chimpanzee walk. Kibale Forest is known for the fact that it has got the highest concentration of primates in the whole of East Africa and so during the chimpanzee trek, you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rain-forest as you search these chimpanzees, along which journey you will see other primates like a red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others.

Lunch will after your trek and out of the forest. So after lunch, you will go for a walk in the Bigodi swamp, this nature walk is very fruitful and it is an initiative of the local community that takes about two hours. The swamp is known for being home to a variety of birds and Flora. After the walk, you will return to the lodge for your dinner and the overnight

DAY 4: TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Immediately after breakfast, you will start on your journey to Queen Elizabeth, when you get there, you will visit to the Crater Lakes region which is located slightly outside the park before entering inside the park.

It is a marvelous route with a beautiful panorama via Kasese, with the green valley on the left and the Rwenzori Mountains on your right side. As you head to your lodge, you will enjoy a game drive en route which gives you a chance to spot warthogs, water bucks, and other wildlife. Your dinner and overnight will be at any of the below

DAY 5: GAME DRIVE | LAUNCH CRUISE – QUEEN ELIZABETH

You take your breakfast very early and then begin this day with a game drive along the Kasenyi Miles Track to search for animals like the ions, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda Kobs, elands, bushbucks, topis, and many other wild animals in their natural habitat.

You will be through by midday and then drive back to the lodge for your lunch, before returning for lunch. Take lunch and after go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway between Lake Edward and Lake George. You will watch the elephants, buffaloes drinking water along the shores, and hundreds of hippos. After the boat ride, you will return to your lodge to have your dinner and retire from the day

DAY 6: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING – KYAMBURA | BWINDI FOREST VIA ISHASHA SECTOR

This morning, immediately after having breakfast, the driver will take you for a briefing before you go for Chimp tracking in Kyambura Wildlife Reserve. Chimps tracking usually takes 4 hours and by midday, you will be out of the jungle to have your lunch and then after that you will drive to Bwindi going through the Ishasha sector. A game drive en route will reward you with trek climbing Lions which means you should search for them.

The panoramic route runs through a lush countryside while you pass traditional homesteads and farms. You will arrive at Bwindi in the evening for dinner and overnight at

DAY 7: GORILLA TRACKING | BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST

Today after breakfast we go gorilla tracking and this is the highlight of this safari. When you go for briefing at the ranger station, the ranger guide will brief you on how to behave with these giant apes. The trek can take longer than expected which means you have to carry your lunch with you because you will not have the time to go back to the lodge to have lunch.

The time taken to track these primates is unpredictable however. Trekkers will love the tracking in this beautiful eco system and when you encounter of these gentle giants of Bwindi with the silverbacks, the feeling is thrilling. Hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. You will have a hour to observe them closely while they play, eat, and rest before you walk out of the jungle back to the lodge

DAY 8: THE EQUATOR | KAMPALA

After breakfast, you will start to drive back to Kampala. On the way, may or not visit the Mpigi Royal Drums Makers and certainly the Equator, take pictures, and shop souvenirs. You will have a lunch break too at lunchtime time and dinner will at the hotel of your choice in Kampala, most like where you were before the trip

DAY 9: KAMPALA CITY TOUR | DEPARTURE

Your last tour will take you to a few historical places in Kampala like the Namugongo martyrs’ shrine, Kasubi Tombs, Rubaga and Namirembe Hill, and national theatre the Uganda Museum, and the African Craft Village where you can buy some souvenirs too.

Later the guide/driver will transfer you to the airport to catch your flight back home. This day will mark the end of your trip with AA safaris and tours
