Sited on the shores of Lake Mutanda on the Mushengero Peninsula, Nkuringo safari lodge was established in 1996 and it overlooks the superlative Virunga volcanoes.   This luxury lodge has 7 self-contained tented rooms built on the shores of the lake, with permanent stone bathrooms at the rear and raised-decking supporting the vast tent in front.

The lodge has two levels, and the main lodge that is designed with tradition at its heart is on the lower level. It was designed with local stone and hardwood structures which creates a cozy environment for the cool evening on the lake.   The top deck provides amazing views of the volcanoes and Lake Mutanda.  The lower deck is mostly used for early breakfast and lunch buffets. The lodge has a lounge and bookshop with a well-established library providing plenty of reading materials.

The lodge by road is a day’s drive from Kampala, whereas by air; the chartered flight takes one hour from Entebbe or Kajjansi to Kisoro and then it is 45 minute’s drive by road to the lodge from Kisoro airstrip.
