Is it Easy to Track Gorillas in Rwanda, Gorilla Tracking Safari

There are ten (10) habituated families of mountain gorilla available to the public to be tracked. In Rwanda depending on your physical fitness, you can always ask to trek a family that nearby and less tiring; this may take 1 to 2 hours to trek. In fact Rwanda offers a gorilla trekking experiences that takes less hours compared to other gorilla tracking destinations.

Gorilla Tacking Safaris are conducted in volcanoes national Park and during this amazing activity, visitors will have the opportunity to see the breathtaking Virunga Mountains, different tree species, birds, butterflies, Golden monkeys, twin lakes and most of all the giant mountain gorillas.

To better enjoy your Gorilla Tracking Safari we recommend that you hire porters to carry your bags as you explore the forest in search of the gorillas, we recommend that you carry your water bottle with you to enable you easily drink whenever possible. because the trekking is led by highly skilled knowledgeable guide, it will be a very informative walk as they wil detail you about the overall biodiversity of the volcanoes park.

The golden rule we always   give to our visitors going to trek gorillas is to have the slowest person in the group to lead in front since the person at the front sets the pace for the rest to follow. Rwanda is less damp compared to the humid forested Bwindi in Uganda and that make it less challenging to traverse.

Volcanoes National Park has a wide range of accommodation facilities ranging from the super luxury to the Budget facilities so where one will sleep will entirely depend on their preference and budget. Among the commonly known accommodation facilities include: Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, Virunga Lodge and Sabyinyo Silver back Lodge.
